The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Montreal had the honor of welcoming H.E. Ambassador Nabil Mekki, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt, along with the research team from Polytechnique Montréal, UQAM, UQTR, and ÉTS, to mark the launch of the award-winning collaborative project with Galala University in Egypt, entitled “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Medicine.” The project led by Dr. Hany Moustapha, Professor of Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, and funded by the Government of Quebec.
The official launch was also attended virtually by a representative of the Quebec government. This initiative aims to train Galala University undergraduate students in applying Internet of Things (IoT), simulation, and artificial intelligence technologies in the medical field as well as Provide two fully funded master’s scholarships in Canada for top-performing Egyptian students. On this occasion, Dr. Ahmed Gaber, Egyptian Cultural Counselor, extended his sincere congratulations to the research team for securing this prestigious project. He wished them continued success and emphasized his unwavering support, encouraging the team to pursue further opportunities that may pave the way for larger-scale initiatives with broader funding.
استقبل المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بمونتريال سعادة السفير نبيل مكي، القنصل العام لجمهورية مصر العربية، والفريق البحثي من جامعات بوليتكنيك مونتريال ويوكام ويوكتر وإي تي إس، وذلك بمناسبة إطلاق المشروع البحثي الفائز بالتعاون مع جامعة الجلالة في مصر تحت عنوان: استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي في مجال الطب”، بقيادة الدكتور هاني مصطفى، أستاذ الهندسة بجامعة بوليتكنيك، والممول من حكومة كيبيك
حضر الفعالية افتراضيًا ممثل عن حكومة كيبيك، حيث تم الإعلان عن انطلاق المشروع الذي يهدف إلى تدريب طلاب مشروعات التخرج بجامعة الجلالة على استخدام تكنولوجيات إنترنت الأشياء والمحاكاة والذكاء الاصطناعي في التطبيقات الطبية وكذلك تقديم منحتين كاملتي التمويل لدرجة الماجستير في كندا لأفضل الطلاب المصريين المتميزين. وفي كلمته، هنّأ الدكتور أحمد جابر، المستشار الثقافي المصري، الفريق البحثي على هذا الإنجاز، متمنيًا لهم كامل التوفيق والنجاح، ومؤكدًا دعمه المستمر، وحاثًّا إياهم على السعي نحو فرص أكبر ومشروعات مستقبلية بتمويل أوسع
