As part of its ongoing cultural activities and regular engagement with members of the Egyptian community abroad—as well as with Canadian audiences to promote Egyptian identity—the Egyptian Cultural Bureau in Montreal, in collaboration with the cultural offices in Washington, London, and Berlin, organized a public lecture with contemporary Egyptian writer and novelist Omer Taher, often referred to as “the writer of a generation.” The event, titled “Ask Omer Taher,” provided a unique opportunity for the community to engage directly with the author in an open discussion, exploring his personality, works, and future projects that continue to inspire today’s youth. The lecture attracted a wide audience from the Egyptian community, who praised the event and expressed their appreciation for the inspiring discussion, noting its role in strengthening their connection with modern Egyptian culture.
في إطار النشاط الثقافي والتواصل الدوري مع أبناء الجالية المصرية وكذلك مع المجتمع الكندي لتعزيز الهوية المصرية، نظم المكتب الثقافي المصري بمونتريال، بالتعاون مع المكاتب الثقافية في واشنطن، إنجلترا، وألمانيا، محاضرة عامة للكاتب والروائي المصري المعاصر عمر طاهر، والذي يُلقَّب بـ “كاتب الجيل”.جاءت المحاضرة تحت عنوان “اسأل عمر طاهر”، حيث أتيحت الفرصة لأبناء الجالية للتواصل المباشر معه في حلقة نقاش مفتوحة، للتعرّف على شخصيته وأعماله وخططه المستقبلية عن قرب، والتي تُعَد مصدر إلهام للعديد من شباب هذا الجيل. وقد شهد اللقاء حضورًا لافتًا من أبناء الجالية المصرية، الذين أثنوا على المحاضرة وأشادوا بمستوى الحوار والتفاعل، معبرين عن تقديرهم لهذه المبادرة الثقافية التي أسهمت في تعزيز الارتباط بالثقافة المصرية المعاصرة
