The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Montreal, Canada, extends its sincere congratulations to Dr. Nabil Seidah, Professor at the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal (IRCM), on receiving the Great Arab Minds Award in the field of Medicine for 2025, as part of its third annual edition held in January 2026. Dr. Seidah received the award in Dubai from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. The value of the award in each category is one million UAE dirham (approximately 378,000 Canadian dollars).
Dr. Nabil Seidah’s medical and research achievements have made significant contributions to improving heart health and advancing the understanding of how the body regulates cholesterol levels. His long scientific career has focused on protecting millions of people from heart attacks and strokes. His research and discoveries have also contributed to the development of a new generation of effective medications. He has published more than 820 scientific papers, and his work has been cited over 71,000 times.
It is worth noting that Professor Seidah joined the University of Montreal and later the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal (IRCM) in 1973, following the completion of his PhD in the United States in 1972. Over more than 50 years, he has conducted pioneering research in the fields of cancer and cardiovascular diseases in Montreal. He also serves as a Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.
Professor Nabil Seidah is considered one of the distinguished Egyptian figures abroad, and Egypt takes great pride in such exemplary individuals and their outstanding scientific and humanitarian contributions.
يسرّ مكتب مصر للعلاقات الثقافية والتعليمية في مونتريال – كندا أن يتقدم بالتهنئة إلى الدكتور نبيل صيدح، الأستاذ بمعهد البحوث السريرية في مونتريال (IRCM)، بمناسبة فوزه بجائزة نوابغ العرب في مجال الطب لعام 2025، وذلك في نسختها السنوية الثالثة التي أُقيمت في يناير 2026. وقد تسلّم الدكتور نبيل صيدح الجائزة في دبي من صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، ورئيس مجلس الوزراء، وحاكم دبي. وتبلغ قيمة الجائزة في كل فئة مليون درهم إماراتي، أي ما يعادل نحو 378 ألف دولار كندي
وتُعد الإنجازات الطبية والبحثية للدكتور نبيل صيدح إسهامات بارزة في تعزيز صحة القلب، وفهم آليات تنظيم مستويات الكوليسترول في الجسم. وقد ركّزت مسيرته العلمية الطويلة على حماية ملايين الأشخاص من النوبات القلبية والجلطات. كما أسهمت أبحاثه واكتشافاته في تطوير جيل جديد من الأدوية الفعّالة، ونشر أكثر من 820 بحثًا علميًا، فيما تم الاستشهاد بأعماله أكثر من 71 ألف مرة. والجدير بالذكر أن البروفيسور نبيل صيدح التحق بجامعة مونتريال، ثم بمعهد البحوث السريرية في مونتريال (IRCM)، منذ عام 1973، وذلك بعد حصوله على درجة الدكتوراه من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عام 1972. وعلى مدار أكثر من خمسين عامًا، قدّم أبحاثًا رائدة في مجالي أمراض القلب والسرطان في مونتريال، كما يشغل أيضًا منصب أستاذ متفرغ بكلية الطب في جامعة ماكغيل
ويُعد البروفيسور نبيل صيدح أحد النماذج المصرية المشرفة في بلاد المهجر، التي تفخر بها الدولة المصرية وتعتز بما تقدمه من إسهامات علمية وإنسانية رفيعة
