Under the patronage of the Consulate General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Montreal, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau organized the first session of the Egyptian Cultural Salon in Montreal for 2026. The event was held at the Cultural Attaché’s premises in collaboration with the Service de Publicité et de Développement des Immigrants (SPDI). Coinciding with World Book Day, the salon featured a discussion and book signing of “Tales from the Land of the Maple” by Egyptian writer and journalist Hossam Mokbel.
This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to create a cultural dialogue platform aimed at strengthening connections among members of the Egyptian and Arab communities, while reinforcing their ties to their homeland. The event was honored by the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Nabil Meky, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Montreal, accompanied by his spouse, along with a distinguished group of intellectuals and members of the Egyptian and Arab communities in Montreal. At the conclusion of the event, attendees warmly welcomed the idea of holding the cultural salon on a quarterly basis, recognizing its important role in enriching cultural life and fostering community engagement.
تحت رعاية القنصلية العامة لجمهورية مصر العربية في مونتريال، نظّم مكتب مصر للعلاقات الثقافية والتعليمية أولى حلقات الصالون الثقافي المصري بمونتريال لعام 2026، وذلك بمقر الملحقية الثقافية، بالتعاون مع جمعية الخدمات العامة وإدماج المهاجرين . وتزامن هذا الحدث مع الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للكتاب، حيث شهد الصالون مناقشة وحفل توقيع كتاب “حكايات من بلاد القيقب“ للكاتب والصحفي المصري حسام مقبل. وتأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار الجهود المبذولة لخلق منصة للحوار الثقافي، تهدف إلى تعزيز الروابط بين أبناء الجالية المصرية والعربية، وربطهم بوطنهم الأم
وقد شرّف الصالون بحضوره سعادة القنصل العام لجمهورية مصر العربية في مونتريال، السفير نبيل مكي، والسيدة حرمه، إلى جانب نخبة من المثقفين وأبناء الجالية المصرية والعربية المقيمين في مونتريال. وفي ختام الفعالية، رحّب الحضور بفكرة تنظيم الصالون الثقافي بشكل دوري كل ثلاثة أشهر، لما له من دور مهم في إثراء الحياة الثقافية وتعزيز التواصل بين أبناء الجالية
