Highlights from the participation of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Gaber, Cultural Counselor and Head of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Montreal, Canada, in the activities of the “Egyptian Pavilion” at Festival Orientalys in Montreal, organized by the Association des Services Publics pour l’Intégration des Immigrants (SPDI), from August 13 to 16, 2026.
The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Ambassador Nabil Mekky, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Montreal, and his spouse, Mr. Mohamed Atef, Consul of Egypt in Montreal, as well as Mr. Adel Boulos, President of the General Union of Egyptians Abroad – Canada Branch, and businessman Mr. Peter Marcos of Plaza Management Group (PMG), along with members of the Egyptian community and the Canadian public.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Gaber expressed his sincere appreciation to Ms. Aliaa El Shafie and Mr. Hossam Mokbel, founders of SPDI and organizers of the Egyptian Pavilion, for their dedicated efforts in organizing this distinguished initiative and showcasing Egyptian culture and heritage to the Canadian community.
The Egyptian Pavilion featured a variety of cultural and heritage activities highlighting the richness and diversity of Egyptian identity and civilization, providing visitors with an opportunity to discover different aspects of Egypt’s unique cultural heritage.
The participation of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Montreal – Canada comes as part of its ongoing efforts to promote Egyptian culture and civilization, strengthen Egypt’s cultural presence in Canada, and foster cultural dialogue and exchange between the Egyptian and Canadian communities.

وقد شرّف الفعالية بالحضور سعادة السفير/ نبيل مكي، القنصل العام لجمهورية مصر العربية في مونتريال، والسيدة حرمه، والسيد القنصل/ محمد عاطف، إلى جانب رجل الأعمال السيد/ عادل بولس، رئيس اتحاد المصريين بالخارج – فرع كندا، ورجل الأعمال السيد/ بيتر مرقص، مجموعة بلازا، ونخبة من أبناء الجالية المصرية والجمهور الكندي
ويتقدم الأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد جابر بخالص الشكر والتقدير للسيدة/ علياء الشافعي والسيد/ حسام مقبل، مؤسسي جمعية الخدمات العامة لإدماج المهاجرين والمنظمين للخيمة المصرية، على جهودهم المتميزة في تنظيم الفعالية وإبراز الثقافة والتراث المصري بصورة مشرفة أمام المجتمع الكندي(SPDI)
وتضمنت الخيمة مجموعة من الأنشطة الثقافية والتراثية التي تعكس ثراء وتنوع الهوية والحضارة المصرية، وتسهم في التعريف بالموروث الثقافي المصري وتعزيز التواصل مع مختلف الثقافات والجاليات المشاركة بالمهرجان
وتأتي مشاركة المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بمونتريال – كندا في إطار جهوده المستمرة لدعم الحضور الثقافي المصري، والترويج للثقافة والحضارة المصرية، وتعزيز جسور التواصل والتبادل الثقافي بين مصر وكندا
