As part of the regular cultural activities, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Montreal invited Eng. Nazmi Marqus to give a public lecture entitled “The Life and Legacy of Naguib Mahfouz, From Regional Fame to Global Recognition” to highlight the most important milestones in the life of Naguib Mahfouz, his major works and quotes, and how he transitioned to global recognition through his local works. Many specialists and members of the Egyptian community in Canada, as well as Canadians, participated, and a dialogue session was opened after the lecture for further discussions.
