In a memorable evening that paid tribute to the legacy of iconic Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdy, Dr. Ahmed Gaber, Cultural Attaché and Director of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Canada, attended the cultural event titled “A Night with Baligh,” held at Meadowvale Theatre in Toronto. The event was organized by members of the Egyptian community and witnessed an exceptional turnout from Egyptian and Arab audiences, all united by their love for timeless, high-quality music. The celebration reflected the deep cultural connection and pride shared by the community in preserving Egypt’s rich artistic heritage.
The evening was honored by the presence of H.E. Ambassador Nabil Makki, Consul General of Egypt in Montreal, and his spouse, as well as Consul Mohamed Atef and MPP Sheref Sabawy, Member of Ontario’s Provincial Parliament, who joined the audience in celebrating this outstanding artistic occasion.
The concert featured captivating performances by Majed Zareef, Radwa Nasr, and Natalie G, who brought to life some of Baligh Hamdy’s most beloved works, filling the theatre with nostalgia and pride in Egyptian musical excellence. The Egyptian Cultural Office in Canada extends its heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to the organizing committee for their outstanding efforts and exceptional coordination, which ensured the event, was delivered in the most impressive and dignified manner. Their dedication is a testament to the vital role played by the Egyptian community in celebrating and sustaining Egypt’s cultural legacy abroad.
في أمسية فنية راقية تعكس جمال وروعة التراث الموسيقي المصري، شارك الدكتور أحمد جابر، الملحق الثقافي ومدير البعثة التعليمية لجمهورية مصر العربية بكندا، في الاحتفالية الفنية “ليلة مع بليغ”، والتي أقامها أبناء الجالية المصرية بمدينة تورونتو على مسرح Meadowvale Theatre، احتفاءً بموسيقى الموسيقار الراحل بليغ حمدي. وقد شهدت الاحتفالية إقبالًا جماهيريًا كبيرًا وغير مسبوق من أبناء الجالية المصرية والعربية ومحبي الفن الأصيل، في أجواء حملت عبق الزمن الجميل وعبّرت عن شوق وحنين لجذور الهوية الثقافية المصرية
شرّف الحفل بحضوره سعادة السفير نبيل مكي، القنصل العام لجمهورية مصر العربية في مونتريال، والسيدة حرمه، إلى جانب القنصل محمد عاطف، والنائب البرلماني شريف سبعاوي، عضو برلمان مقاطعة أونتاريو، الذين شاركوا الحضور في هذه المناسبة الفنية والثقافية الراقية. وقد تألق في إحياء الحفل كل من الفنان ماجد ظريف، والفنانة رضوى نصر، والفنانة ناتالي، الذين قدّموا باقة من أجمل أعمال بليغ حمدي التي لامست مشاعر الحاضرين وأثارت فيهم الحنين والفخر بالهوية الفنية المصرية. وفي الختام يوجّه المكتب الثقافي المصري بكندا خالص الشكر والتقدير للجنة المنظمة على الجهد المتميز والتنظيم الراقي، الذي ساهم في إخراج الحفل بأبهى صورة، مثمنًا الدور الذي يقوم به أبناء الجالية في الحفاظ على التراث الثقافي المصري وتعزيزه في المجتمع الكندي
